Cutting your hair more often does not make it grow faster. It only looks like your hair is growing faster because the dry damaged ends have been trimmed and are no longer splitting and breaking off.
You can’t "train" your hair to go in a certain direction. Your hair can be cut in certain ways to either leave weight on or take weight off to help guide the hair where you want it to go. Oh yeah- styling and finishing products are quite handy in these circumstances!
Wearing your hair in a tight ponytail, in the same spot for a prolonged time can contribute to hair loss. Your hair is being held in traction causing stress on hair growing deep inside of the follicle. This also goes for the use of pins, clips, hair combs etc.
Towel-drying means to gently blot excess water from your hair and not ruffle the hair's cuticle layers up after shampooing and conditioning! When blow drying wavy to curly hair smooth, be sure to thoroughly dry your hair after applying a leave-in type sealant or hair will revert to its natural state by “creeping" moisture.
If your shampoo seems to stop working it may be that what you’re using contains conditioning ingredients that are building up and coating your hair. Use of a clarifying shampoo at least once a week followed by a hair mask. Visit your professional stylist to get a recommendation for products that will not degrade or coat your hair.
